Both 7th and 8th grade boys track teams competed against Bear Branch last night in a dual meet.
7th Grade was led by Brandon Beavers, who won the 800, 3rd in triple jump, 3rd in the mile and then immediately ran and was apart of the winning 4×4 team. Kai Aroca won the 400M run, was 3rd in the high jump, and was apart of the winning 4×4 team. Lance Thomas got 3rd in the 100M dash, while Eric Bilbo took 2nd in the 200. Sam Gonzalez won the shotput while Caylon Dygert took 2nd in the discus. Miguel Trejo got 2nd in both the 2400 and 1600 and like Beavers immediately turned around and was apart of the 4×4 winning team. Alex Plocek won the 110 Hurdles, Trevyn Gabriel was 2nd, while Evan McDonald won the 300 hurdles.
In 8th Grade William Williams, who won pole vault and the 400 also was 2nd in the 200, Cale Hellums won the 200m, and was apart of a winning 4×100 relay team that posted a quick time of 47.7. Nathan Gonzaga, also a member of the 4×100 relay team, won long jump at 18 feet 10 inches, while Tye Copeland finished 2nd at 18’3 and also was on the 4×100 team. Owen Maxwell won the 800m run and finished 2nd in the 1600m behind winning teammate Carlos Flores. Ethan Davis won the 300M hurdles and Caden Salazaar won the 110M hurdles. Roberto Dorado and Donovan Garcia finished 1-2 in shotput, while Roger Clubb won the discus.
Both track teams will be back in action after spring break on Thursday at the Magnolia Junior High Invitational, hosted right here at MJH.
